FIELD TRIPS

The Galiano Naturalists sponsor regular nature walks on Galiano Island.

Spring birdwalks

The Galiano Naturalists are sponsoring a series of Saturday morning birdwalks in April and May. The walks begin at 8:30 am and last for two or three hours. Dates and locations for the 2009 walks are as follows:

- Saturday, April 4: Montague Park (meet at the boat launch parking lot)

- Saturday, April 11: Cable Bay (meet at the parking area at the end of McCoskrie Road)

- Saturday, April 18: Georgeson Bay Road and Active Pass (meet at Park Place parking area on Georgeson Bay Road, next to the highways yard)

- Saturday, April 25: Laughlin Lake (meet at the highways gravel storage area on Vineyard Way)

- Saturday, May 2: Bluff Park (meet at the parking area off Bluff Road)

- Saturday, May 9: Cook Road (meet at the ecological reserve parking area on Cook Road)

- Saturday, May 16: Gaylor Farm (meet at the end of McClure Road)

- Saturday, May 23: Bellhouse Park and Bellhouse Road (meet at the Bellhouse Park parking area at the end of Jack Road)

- Saturday, May 30: Bodega Ridge (meet at the parking area at the end of Cottage Way)
