a) To uphold and support the purpose and intent of the
Islands Trust according to
(i) the Islands Trust Act,
(ii) the Islands Trust Policy Statement
(June 1994), and
(iii) any other policies, regulations and
guidelines that conform to (a) and (b) above.
b) To work to strengthen the structure, and effectiveness of
the Islands Trust, and the implementation of its Act, policies,
regulations and guidelines.
c) To assist the Local Trust Committees of North and South
Pender Islands in ensuring that the Official Community Plans
and Bylaws of North and South Pender Islands are consistent with the
purpose and intent of the Islands Trust.
d) To do anything incidental and necessary to promote and attain the
foregoing purposes.
3) The purposes of the Society shall be carried on without
purpose of gain for its members and any profits or other accretions
to the Society shall be used for promoting its purposes.
4) In the event of dissolution of the Society, the assets of the Society
remaining after the satisfaction of its debts and liabilities shall be
given or transferred to such organization or organizations promoting
the same or similar purposes of this Society as may be determined
by the members of the Society at the time of dissolution.
5) Paragraphs 3, 4, and 5 of the Constitution are unalterable
in accordance with section 22 of the Society Act.

THE PENDER ISLANDS TRUST PROTECTION SOCIETY
The by-laws of the society are those set out in Schedule B to the
Society Act.
